Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a day to honor our heroes for paying the ultimate price for our freedom.

All of us enjoy freedoms that we would not have if veterans and their families had not sacrificed for us. I want you to think about one specific reason you are thankful to our veterans. In other words, how has their sacrifice made your life better?

(hint: you can use this in your letter assignment)

  1. Iam thankful for the veterans because, if we would of lost all the wars the world would most likely be a very different place. Europe would probably still be under Nazi rule or under the Russian rule of the Iron Curtain. America would be way different, I don't think the country would be the same at all or even the world. Korea would be one big Korea instead of North and South. Africa would be under the German rule as well. There wouldn't even be a France anymore. Without the Veterans our world and country would be screwed.

  2. The veterans have made my life much better. Without them fighting, I would have a lot less than I have right now. I would be afraid of terrorism everyday. Terrorists would be attacking anywhere without our veterans fighting. Also, we would be controlled and told what to believe in. We would not have the freedom of speech, we wouldn't be able to believe in our own religion. Life would be a lot worse without veterans fighting for us. Without the veterans I wouldn't be able to believe in my own religion, and terrorists would be a big threat.

  3. I think that if I didn't have freedom my life would be different because with out freedom I would be able to do stuff like choosing my classes or what school I want to go to. I would not like that one bit because in other counties they choose what your job is going to be in the future so you really don’t have a choice. Freedom is also nice just to know that you are free and you have rights. I like my right and I hope they will never get taken away from me.

  4. The veterans have changed America's freedom so much, because they went out to war and fought so we could have this freedom. with out the Veterans, we would not have this type of freedom, nor would this be a brave country. In order to take time to give thanks, we celebrate once a year out of our 365 to take time for the remembrance for the people who had died and who are still alive. So when you go to the memorial day service, be sure to thank a Veteran.

  6. I would have to say I am thankful for the freedom and homes that they fought for us, because without them we would't have houses, becuase A:We would all be dead, B:We would become prisoners of war, or C:We just be sitting in the streets without a home. So I am very thankful for the who died and lived through war that they saved us from harm or even possibly death. So Excellent Job you guys for keeping America Safe from those people who want to hurt or kill us> :)

  7. Well there are many things that I am thankful for. There are many things that I can do that in other countries cant. There life is a big thing that helped get us to freedom. We have nice things that some people can not do. We have good things and bad things about freedom. Many people don't even care about some ones life and don't even celebrate there life or say thank you. I think that it should be mandatory for people to come to memorial day celebrations. It is said that people don't care about it. thank you for the freedom.
