Most of you expressed disgust when the idea of eating roadkill was brought up, but according to PETA, roadkill is a better choice from a health and ethics standpoint. It doesn’t contain
antibiotics, hormones, and growth stimulants. It's the more humane
option because the animals haven’t suffered through any of the horrors of intensive animal
agriculture. In Alaska, people actually get on a waiting list to receive roadkill, and if it's not taken, the police give it to charities. Roadkill is fresh, organic, and free.
Which is worse; eating pink goo at Mcdonald's, or eating a deer off the side of the road?

ReplyDeleteI would rather have the deer because personally I love meat even if it is fake meat. If it says its meat I will try it and love it. No matter what it is. So my first choice would be road kill, then throw up, then after that I would finally eat at McDonald’s. I have not ate at there in five years and I am proud of it.

DeleteI have to agree with Cody on this one. I would eat the road kill instead of the McDonalds. Only on some conditions, first I would have to know that it was fresh and was not sitting there for a week, I would test the meat for diseases and have somebody eat it so then I would know if I would get sick! Also the last time that I ate McDonalds was after a cross country meet and the coach had us stop and eat there. After I ate that I didn't feel too good.(It didn't sit well)

DeleteI have to agree with Austen and Cody with this one. After reading that roadkill isn't really that bad for you, I would rather eat it than pink goo. After cooking the roadkill, it would probably just taste mostly normal. Also, like Austen said, I would have it Checked to make sure it would be safe to eat. I think pink goo would be gross to eat and some safe and cooked roadkill really wouldn't be that bad.
ReplyDeleteWell to me I actually think road kill would be better. Why well because I'm sorry but pink goo is just to disgusting. Also there kind of right. Road kill is fresh and free. I think that what they do is really good. They are trying to make use of all of there resources.

ReplyDeleteEating the pink slime at McDonald's is worse for our bodies, our planet, and our overall well-being, and in theory, I would say that the roadkill is healthier and I would rather eat that. But in reality, I know that I would never do it. I can't even handle scraping a dead squirrel out of my yard, let alone picking up an animal off the road. Plus, I can't eat anything if I see it's face. So I guess realistically, even though the pink slime is disgusting to think about, it doesn't look like that when I eat it. My perception is that it looks yummy, and my perception is my reality.:)

DeleteWe can eat deer. Venison is very good and tender. I know a guy that saw roadkill and put it in the back of his truck but it was just knocked in the head.
